The Fig Tree Child Care and Learning Center, Inc. is a private family owned, Christian based child care center with more than 65 years in early child care experience.   We offer the best available, age-appropriate learning tools and a well-trained, enthusiastic and dedicated staff.  Our staff members participate in onsite training as well as the required 12 hours per year early childhood continuing education as well as CPR and First Aid. We are licensed by the State of Alabama and we are determined not only to meet the high standards set by our state, but to go above and beyond the call of duty to offer quality child care in this area.

The Fig Tree center is accessible by a security access code known only by you and trusted family members.  We also have 16 cameras in and around the center to help ensure your child’s safety.

We offer three age-appropriate playgrounds that support physical and creative growth while providing a safe, secure play area.  Healthy meals are prepared onsite according to USDA regulations and provided to the children hot and ready to eat.

The Fig Tree provides a monthly newsletter, which includes a monthly menu, as a means of communication with parents as well as an updated website and parent information boards.  For the younger children, daily sheets are provided for the parents that show the daily activities and the older children will bring home evidence of their daily work.  You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

The Fig Tree also offers before and after school care for our school aged children to many of the area schools.  Children will receive breakfast before school and a snack after school.  They will also receive assistance with their homework in the afternoon before they take a recess.  In the summer, we offer care for school aged children in our summer camp program.  Camps will be based on a theme with lots of interesting outings, crafts, etc. to keep their minds churning.  We also take weekly outings to the skating rink and the swimming pool at the local community center.
